Botswana Development Corporation staff members on Friday 22nd March 2012 handed over 10 toilets to the residents of Ramotlabaki village in the Kgatleng district.

The handover ceremony was part of BDC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in conjunction with the BDC Social Club which helped construct the toilets for residents of the village in September of 2011.

BDC through its CSR Fund committed itself to build ten one room units at an average cost of P20 000.00 each. This Initiative was aimed at assisting the ten most affected families in Ramotlabaki with new homes.

The houses were completed and handed over to the residents in February 2011.

Speaking at the event, CSR Chairman Mr. Simon Meti reiterated that after the houses were built, it became apparent that these families also needed toilets and committed BDC to building the additional necessary toilets which cost P10 000.00 each.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Kgatleng District Council, Mr. Steven Makhura, BDC Social Club members and a number of the locals who were keen on helping out with this initiative.
