LION PARK AMUSEMENT RESORT LAUNCHES THE SECOND LARGEST ROLLERCOASTER IN AFRICA

Lion Park Amusement Resort, yet another Botswana Development Corporation Limited (BDC) subsidiary, is one of the corporation’s successful entertainment and leisure projects. Currently under the leadership of the General Manager Mr. D. De Walt, the resort offers different fascinating and reasonable packages of entertainment to different audiences.

The latest development at the resort is the pipelined introduction of the second largest rollercoaster in Africa which is currently under construction and expected to be complete by the end of the third quarter, this year. A roller coaster is a popular amusement ride developed for amusement parks. This development will go a long way in increasing the resort’s clientele from other countries in Africa and even internationally and this will benefit other tourism industries like accommodation facilities.

Located about 20km from the city along the road to Lobatse, Lion Park is a perfect family outing that besides the upcoming rollercoaster, offers a variety of other activities for both adults and kids. To mention but a few, the resort has a shallow swimming pool to accommodate kids together with a guide for safety purposes, water slides leading into a wave pool, a train ride that drives around the park, go-kart racing, magicians, clowns, boat rides, paintball and Luna Park rides popularly known as swings.

As for adults, the resort offers events management for celebrations of events such as weddings and parties that comes along with packages of delicious meals, beverages and music. The rollercoaster is only the beginning of many more exciting projects to come. Lion Park intends on introducing edutainment, which mixes education and entertainment as part of its many activities as well as a conference facility and chalets.
