Letlole La Rona Launch

BDC has yet again marked another milestone in its evolution when it launched its new company, Letlole La Rona Limited (LLR) and its website last week Thursday 7th April 2011 at GICC. Letlole La Rona is a property company and is a newly established member of the BDC Limited group of companies.

The event was well attended by major key stakeholders, fund managers, media and BDC management. The Managing Director, Ms Nthebolan said the decision to establish Letlole La Rona by BDC follows the Corporation’s divestment policy which underscores the need for the Corporation to continuously review its portfolio with the view to divest from mature investments and use the divestments proceeds to invest in new ventures.

The MD further stated that central to the divestment policy is the desire by BDC to encourage in a meaningful way the participation of citizens in the ownership structure of the divested entities such as the ones under the LLR portfolio. Moreover, the MD said that LLR is a public company which has a code of corporate governance and independent directors. It is a transparent investment vehicle through which shareholders are able to vote on important issues that affect them.

She additionally urged the guests to visit the LLR website to get more detailed information about the company as well as to take advantage of the wonderful opportunity through investing in the linked units that LLR has to offer.
