BDC hosted Business Breakfast in Francistown and Maun Botswana Development Corporation Limited (BDC) hosted business breakfast seminars for the business communities in Francistown and Maun. The main aim of these breakfast seminars was to increase the Corporation’s visibility in terms of its products and services to the business communities of the above mentioned places. The other aim was to solicit feedback from the business community in terms of how BDC could improve its products offerings and general business operations. This initiative is in line with the newly approved strategy that emphasises that the Corporation should focus on mega projects. Representatives from the Corporation’s Business Development divisions of Industry, Invoice Discounting, Property Development Management, Marketing & Research and Agribusiness and Services participated by explaining the technical requirements of doing business with BDC to the aspiring potential business players who turned in large numbers to attend these events. Giving her welcome remarks to the attendants on both seminars, BDC Business Development General Manager Ms. Sametsi Ditshupo stated that BDC regards them as key stakeholders and facilitators of economic development and diversification in the country. Ms. Ditshupo mentioned that the Corporation finances start up businesses and expansions in the areas of manufacturing, services, agribusiness and commercial property. She also added that it is BDC’s interest to assist in expansion of citizen owned businesses and achieve economic growth and development for our country. “BDC has recently embarked on a new strategy where the Corporation remains committed to establishing itself as a major contributor to Government’s Export Diversification Drive programme. Still on this strategy, viable mega projects are aimed at to enhance economic diversification and employment creation.” She said
