BDC participates at MTI Open Air Campaign
The Ministry of Trade and Industry had an open air campaign at Palapye on the 12th of July 2014 where it housed all its parastatals and departments. The aim of the campaign was to have a one stop shop for residents of Palapye and surrounding areas in order to sensitize them on the services offered by those organizations. BDC being one of the parastatals that fall under the Ministry of Trade and Industry had an opportunity to interact and sell its services and products to the audience.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Honorable Dorcus Makgato- Malesu’ who was the guest speaker detailed the roles of her ministry and encouraged the residents to make use of her Ministry and its parastatals to venture into entrepreneurship and to diversify the economy. She implored residents of Palapye to make use of various services provided by her ministry to create wealth for themselves and the country at large.
She further advised the audience to tap into unexplored business ventures to allow for unlimited opportunities as Botswana has a conducive business environment. She shared that Botswana is a number one investment destination out of 122 nations as shown by high investment returns.
The Minister also took the opportunity to update the residents on the current state of the Fengyue Glass project. She informed that the project is currently under liquidation and its future will only be determined after this whole process has taken its course.
The event kicked off with a motorcade from Palapye old mall to the event venue and ended with touring of stalls buy the community to get as much information from different organizations.
