BDC participates at the 2014 Botswana Consumer Fair

BDC took the opportunity to participate yet again at the annual Consumer Fair which attracts a wide range of exhibitors from small companies to big companies locally and internationally. BDC being a government financial arm exhibited with the aim to share its products and services by creating an interactive face-face platform for its customers.

The Consumer Fair also gives enterprises a platform to network and share ideas on how they can best improve their services across all sectors of their operations in order to diversify the economy. When giving the key note address the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and tourism, Hon Tshekedi Khama encouraged the crowd to take advantage of the Economic Diversification Drive even if it means getting a partner from outside Botswana boarders. He said this could help grow the economy as long as they establish here and employ Batswana.

Khama’s concern was lack of imagination which contributes to investment and partnership failure. “Let’s have high products and service standards by delivering beyond the customer’s expectations” he said. He concluded that innovation will give them a competitive voice.
The BDC Managing Director also took time to tour and support exhibitors.

The theme for this year’s fair was Shop. Discover. Explore. The fair lasted a week’s period, from the 25th -31st of August.
